There are many ways Swindon College celebrates the achievements of its students in terms of progress, effort, attendance and contribution to college life and the wider community.
Swindon College host these awards in the Spring each year on behalf of the 14-19 Partnership. Selected students from across the local school community who attend a college or training provider for one day a week are nominated for their outstanding contribution and progress to their course.
Star Student Awards
These awards are termly and invite nominations from post-16 courses across the college. There are three prizewinners selected for achieving something special or contributing above and beyond the requirements of the course.
Student of the Year Awards
These post-16 awards are for the outstanding student in each area, with a formal ceremony held in September every year.
Always held in October, the Swindon College graduation ceremony is the only one of its kind in the town. Each year hundreds of graduates process through the streets of Swindon led by the Town Crier to a formal ceremony, with guests including local dignitaries and VIPs. Graduates are presented with their certificates in front of an audience of friends and families before returning to the North Star campus for a celebration buffet and entertainment.
