Chris Simmons - Pre-16 Student Liaison Officer

When I landed back in the UK after five years working overseas as a holiday rep, I knew a 9 to 5 office job wasn’t for me. Working with the Pre-16 team offers the chance to make use of transferable skills from my days in the sun; flexibility, resourcefulness, relationship building and an open-mind to every experience thrown at me. Supporting our Pre-16 students here at Swindon College gives me the opportunity to encourage young people that are in a similar position to me at that age. Alongside this, our Staff Development team has offered me incredible support with establishing myself as a Trainee Counsellor, a handy skill to have; with studentsand staff! My background is working with a wide variety of colleagues and customers, with one singular goal: to create a rewarding experience. Swindon College allows me to continue this journey and gives my students, my team and myself the support and encouragement we need to make our journey together incredibly worthwhile.

Kim Whitbread, Beauty Lecturer

I attended Swindon College after I left school and enjoyed my time here so much that I chose to come back in a position of full time employment. I am privileged to work in such an excellent area of the College - Beauty Therapy - teaching remarkable students from all different backgrounds and age groups. At the College, they learn the skills they need to be successful in the beauty industry and it’s great to see them put their new expertise into practice on paying clients.

Elizabeth Humphreys, Facilities Administrator

I joined Swindon College in 1994 providing administrative support to the Engineering department, but for the last 10 years I have worked in Facilities where I help to make sure the College runs smoothly each day.   My role provides me with the opportunity to support and work with several different departments and offers many varied tasks such as the day-to-day upkeep and security of the College, as well as health and safety and office support services.

Tim Hunt - Hospitality Learning Supervisor

My interest in a hospitality based career began in 2004 when I completed 3 years of training at Swindon College and gained an NVQ3 in Hospitality Supervision. Equipped with this qualification, I later applied for a position at the College as a Learning Supervisor in the same department and now have a very enjoyable job working with a fantastic team. We, like others in the College, are committed to providing the very best training and inspiration for our students.
