Foundation Degrees are higher education (university-level) qualifications developed in conjunction with employers to ensure study is industry-relevant and up to date. Swindon College delivers Foundation Degrees in partnership with Oxford Brookes University and the University of Bath.
They are equivalent to the first two full time years of an honours degree and can be studied full or part time. Each course is individual, but part time students might expect to spend six hours a week in college with some content being delivered in their workplace .
The majority of Foundation Degrees offered at Swindon College also have an optional third year for students who wish to gain full honours degree status.
Foundation degree students are often supported by their employers, in terms of day release to attend classes and sponsoring their course fees.
