The uniformed public services sector offers a wide range of career possibilities at different levels and usually provides structured and supported career progression. Employers look for teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards supporting your community or country.

Variety is a major element of public service life and the ability to adapt to different situations, as well as a basic level of fitness, is essential. There are hundreds of job roles in the Armed Forces alone and these careers may take you all over the world.

Roles in the police and fire services also offer excellent benefits; career paths in this sector also include gateways to becoming paramedics and ambulance crew among others.
