Interested in becoming an Apprentice?
We currently have employers waiting to hire apprentices in the following sectors:

  • Hospitality – Housekeeping
  • Construction – Painting and Decorating, Carpentry, Bricklaying
  • Business – Administration.

Apprenticeships offer a structured framework for students to gain relevant practical skills, job knowledge and qualifications. Swindon College offers apprenticeships at Foundation Level 2 and Advanced Level 3 (equivalent to A levels), which can last between two and four years.

Those who successfully achieve Level 2 gain a nationally-recognised qualification proving their competence in a trade or vocation.

Those who successfully achieve Level 3 can look forward to developing a career at management/supervisory level.

Apprentices:

  • Work four days a week with an employer and attend college one day a week
  • Earn a salary while training
  • Gain experience in a real work environment, developing skills by doing the job
  • Are fully supported by their own Swindon College Training Co-ordinator
  • Benefit from regular guidance and motivation to complete training
  • Benefit from the many services available through the Student Union, for example, discounts from many local stores and various social and leisure activities.
